On the Fly Article Archives
How to Win the Race With Time Time flies, and it seems to be accelerating. But you can win the race. Time management is like space management. If a closet is overstuffed and disorganized, you lose track of what is in it and you can’t find anything quickly. You don’t even know what is in there. The stuff that is in it is crumpled and unusable. Some items don’t fit or suit you anymore. This inefficiency and it wastes time! OK, I’ll admit it: there is a process to clean out that closet and reorganize it, and it takes time. You have to analyze everything in there, and whether it still belongs. Then you must decide how to organize what you put back in. It is worth it! Immediately, you are more efficient. You can find what you want. You know everything belongs there, and it all fits. Is it time to sort out the closet of your time? What is cluttering it up? Does everything still suit you? Or, is it just crammed in there, taking up space in your life? If you know your closet is 3feet by 5feet, you’ll fill it accordingly. The same goes for the 24 hours you have every day. But, you have to think about what you want to put into it and where it all goes. Chris Waugh owns reNvision, Inc., and works with business professionals who want to learn to succeed on the fly.
